It may be interesting to many to know that not only the amount of the National Debt, but the different epochs which it has risen to its present enormous amount. In IGGB the debt was £6<M,000; by tha wars of William 111, it was increased by £12,000,000 ; by those of Queen Anne, £24000,000 ; George L. 16,500,000 ; George 11., to 1762 £80,200,000 ; duvine tho Au:e-rit-an War, £118,500,000,- during the French War, £591,500,000 during the Crimean War, £31,230.000 ;• making a giand total of £85i,000,000.
