Merry Thoughts and Happy Moments.
The Staufield and Dark Troupe appeared for the first time last night, at the Foresters' Hall, and we were pleased to see they had wnat they merited, a capital house. Mr Stanfield is a capital actor, and whatever character he takes m hand is well dressed and capitally portrayed. The performance opened with an amusing comedietta, entitled, "A Happy Pair," th« principal parts being taken by Mr and Mrs Stanfield, and the acting being capital all through. '• The Excursion Train " followed, and introduced several very cumic characters, m which both Messrs Stanfjeid and Dark shone, the latter's *' Awful Little Scrub," and the former's " I'm rather too old for that now," being particularly good; Mr Dark gave " A Juvenile Musical Party," capitally, and played a cornet solo, accompanying himself on the piano, with great taste. The characters duets, " Supposiu' as 'ow as I was you," and the " Proverbial BrQ.fh,er-s," who gave the proverbs reversed, were particularly good. The performance concluded with an amusing comedietta, " A Cup of Tea," Mr and Mrs Stautield again, taking the principal pfty-ta. The former a§ Jepemian Scroggins was particularly good, whilst Mrs Stanfield's acting was natural and m every way appropriate. The company have with them a capital pianist, Mr Higgins, and taking it all through it ia one of the best dra-wing^oom entertainments ever given m Pahnerston. We strongly advisoall who wish to en* joy an evening's genuine amusement to visit the Hall to-night. Turough au error on the part of the agent, it was annonnced m the advertisement that the prices, were 4s, 2s 6d and Is, The prices of admission are however, 3s and 2s. After the thorough success of last night, we expect to see a crowded house to -nigh v,
