A Useful Newspaper.
"We learn th<j proprietors of the Weekly Advertiser and Commercial Register are extending their field of operations to the North Island. This paper was started m Christchurch so me two years ago : as a local Commercial Gazette, containing particulars of bills of sale, agricultural liens, bailments, &c, registered under the Chattel Securities Act, &c. t besides all particulars relating to Bankruptcy matters. The concern, however, rapidly grew,- and now includes the bills of sale, &c, of tbe whole South Island, and has a circulation m Canterbury and Otago of nearly 2000. With, the view of making th© paper still, more complete the proprietors — Messrs De Veaux and Co— -have determined on including the Wellington, Taranaki, Hawke's Bay, and Westland Provincial Districts m their field of operations — and with this view agents have been appointed m every town where Bankruptcy business is transacted to supply tbe news. The issue before us (last Saturiay's) is exceedingly complete. It includes tabulated lists for the week of des clarations of insolvency, appoint' ments of trustees, share report (with j every particular relating to the j various companies), market quota* tions, bills of sale and all other instruments, registered under the Chattel Securities Act (including Canterbury, Otago, and Wellington), appointments of meetings of Creditors, particulars of Courts, full list of assets and liabilities m bankrupt estates, applications for orders of discharge, list of applications for letters patent, particulars re ; deeds of assignment, partnership notices, &c, besides a number of interesting original and extracted articles on matters of interest totrades • men and people generally. Seeing the whole of this information is I supplied weekly lor 21s per ! year, and tbe paper is posted free, we have no doubt it will be m great de* mand all along this coast. Mr Wm.
