Palmerston Rifles.

The Palmerston Rifles met for inspection by Major Stapp last night. Foity«two were present, and the Major complimented officers and men on their "efficiency. Major Stapp also presented the cash prizes won at the government firing during the day. The prizes were won by the following : — Vol. Snow, 1 ; Co« lor«Sergt. Stephenson, 2; Vol. Walsh, 8: Corporal Leigh, i. Corporal Leigh was also presented with the company's medal, won on the Prince of Wales' Birthday.
