SUDDEN DISAPPEARANCE.
TO THE EniTOR. Sir, — I occupied some little space m your Monday's issue, calling at~ tention to certaiu facts m regard to dummy advertisements m a print published "not 100 miles from Palmerston" Now it is only tight that an honest effort to reform should be recognised, and I am therefore pleased to record that, on a perusal of last night's iscue of the said print, I find that the prospectus of the Gear Meat Company has dissappeared, that the Wanganui firm has ceased to land potatoes from the wrecked vessel ; that Mr George Rumble has apparently obtained a slaughtering license at last ; and that one — alas ! that it should be only one — of the Wanganui bank-* rupts has apparently left off business. All these dummies have disaDpeared, so that I score another point on this occasion. There are still thirteen columns or 892? inches of which I am extremely suspicious, but will defer comment upon them for the present, pending further enquiries, and because it would not be fair to check an effort to reform. The result $o far proves that my facts were absolutely and literally correct. —I am, &c, \. ' A Business Man.
