Manawatu Butter Factory.

The first annual general meeting of shareholders m the above was held mMr F. Mowlem's oflice on Saturday, a large number of share* holders being present. Mr FerguI son was voted to the chair. Tbe first business transacted was the election of a permanent Board of Directors;- The following gentlemen were nominated : — Messrs Ferguson, Monrad, Akers, Sly, J Mowlein, Caverhill, Wingate, H. Cbliisf J..R. Fv Pratt, Engels and Col. Gorton. The voting resulted as follows : —Ferguson, 314; Monrad, 268 ; Akers, 286.; , Sly, 22(V; ,Mow"em, 191; Caverhill, 191; Wingate, 168; Collis, 126 ; Pratt, 115 ; .Engels 86; Gorton, 40. The first seven: were d eclared d.uly elected. The directors subsequently met ; and MrFerguson was elected Chairman of the Board. It was resolved to invite applica" tions for the office of Secretary, the provisional Secretary, Mr F. Mow*; lem, suggesting this* course. Three offers of sites for ;the factory were teeeived, viz, from Messrs Hitchiogs, J. Sly, and C. Collis. It was resolved to inspect the, sites on Monday wi*h'a vi«w to selection. It was resolved that the allotment call be duly made. The Board then adjourned.
