August 8. This morning the erection of an hospital for smallpox patients was begun. It is situated, about two miles from Christchurch, on the City Reserve, at the sandhills, aud will contain nine rooms k The master of the barque Grass - mere was fined L2O for overloading. The Plimsoll mark was inches submerged.
