Attempted Suicide.
Per Press Association. Oamaru, September 2. ; ; A hairdresser, named Robert Gower, attempted to poison himse with oxalic acid yesterday, doctor was quickly called, as soon as Gower's condition was ascertained, and with the aid of a stomach pump all danger was removed. Gowef will be charged with attempting suicide at the court to-morrow. Wellington, September 2. A young man named Jacob Hanson, employed by the W ellihgton Bleat Preserving and Refrigerating Company, attempted to commit suicide by hanging himself from a steam pipe m tl c factory. When cut down he was nearly strangled. He had beeu m a dispondent state for a day or two. He was remanded to the asylum for examination.
