Wellington, Monday. George Thomas reports, produce . as follows: — A good business has been done m Derwent potatoes at increased rates, and prices are now very firm at 70s, sacks included. The same Temark cannot apply to fluke and kidney seed samples, the market being quite overstocked, and holders are prepared to accept any figure m reason. Oats, firm at 2s 6d to 2s 7d : bran , L 5 ; pollard, L 5 10s ; oatmeal, Ll2 10s ; fowls' wheat, 2s 6a to 8s ; flour, L 9 10s ; feed barley, 2s 6d ; maize, demand limited, 4s 9d ; beans, 4s ; onions, nominal price LlB ; cheese, s£ ; hams arid bacon, farmers' cure, 7d ; Canterbury ditto, 9d. Fresh butter is coming more freely to /hand, and consequently prices have fallen to Is 2d; salt do, Bd, with exceedingly slight sale. Eggs are arriving daily from all parts, and the • demand ; is slackening off, lOd to lid being to* day's realisations. Fowls, scarce, at 4s 6d ; jjeese, 7» ; turkeys, 9s per pair. There is no change to report m lines of fruit ; the market is amply supplied, and prieea as a rule show a loss to shippers.
