Prrss Association. Wellington, Yesterday. Hugh George MeLusky, aged 20 years, came to-day before Justice Cooper for sentence having pleaded guilty to the theft of postal packets at Ohingaiti. Counsel asked for probation. His Honour refused this. He said it was impossible to contemplate the result that might arioe from the acts of dishonest postal officials. It was bis well considered opinion that in no case where a Post Office official was convicted of stealing letters should the provisions of the Probation Act be extended. Prisoner would be sentenced to twelve months' bard labour. '
