Melbourne. Last Night. The Inter-State Labour Conference adopted as its objective, the cultivation of Australian seniiment based upon racial purity and the development of an enlightened and self-reliant community ; the securing of the full results of their industry to all producers by the collective ownership of monopolies, and by the extension of the industrial and economical functions of State and municipality.
A long debate took place on the motion that all candidates in the Labor interest; should bo pledged to a new Protection scheme. Finally it was resolved that', after a report of the Tariff Commission has been submitted, a referendum of the electors be taken on the tariff questi -n, and ihat tho members of the Federal Labor Party give legislative effect to the majority vote.
