Colonial Conference.
(Per Press Association.) Wellington, Yesterday,
The Farmers' Union Colonial Con. ference resumed its sitting this morning. Mr J. G. Wilson, of Rangitikei, was reelected President, and Mr G. W. Leadley, of Ashburton, re-elected VicePresident. Eulogistic references . were made to the Bervices of these gentlemen, both of whom were- nominated by Mr McQueen, of Southland.
Nearly all tho morning's sitting was taken up with discussing a proposal to change the locality of the Colonial Executive from Palmeraton North to Wellington, and to abolish tho office of the Colonial Organiser and create a head office in Wellington with the general Becretary resident there. Ultimately it was decided that the quarterly meetings of an executive, composed of a delegate from each Provincial Council, meet in Wellington; that the office of Colonial Organiser be abolished; and that a general secretary be appointed by the Executive, which shall also decide where the secretary shall reside. The opinion was again3t the secretary residing in Wellington.
