Very little improvement v. xs reported last night in tho caso of SquadronLeader, M. C. McGregor, who is still in a serious condition.
Mr Lano, Presbyterian missionary, of Bulls, is at present in tho Palmerston North Hospital. The sympathy of the Wanganui Presbytery was extended to him at a meeting at Marton on Tuesday.
Mr Robert Edwards, of Palmerston North, .has been elected a membor of the council of the New Zealand Institute of Architects for the ensuing year. This is the eighth occasion on which Mr Edwards has been appointed to the council.
Tho many friends of Mr. Walter Woodley, who is on the" staff of Mr. Herbert Hcpworth’s pharmacy, will be pleased to learn that he has passed the B section of the recent examination held by tho Pharmacy Board, Wellington. Mr F. J. Nathan has been appointed to fill the vacancy on the Manawatu Racing Club committee caused by tho resignation of Mr R. A. McKenzie. The committee on Tuesday evening eulogised the lino work cf- Mr McKenzie, and decided to place on record its appreciation of the splendid services which he had rendered to the club over a long period of years. Mr G. C. Kecble, of Palmerston North, underwent ail operation at a private hospital this week. His many friends will be pleased to learn that ho is progressing favourably. At its meeting on Tuesday, tho Manawatu Racing Club’s committee, of which Mr Kecble is a member, passed a resolution of sympathy with him and expressed the hope that ho would soon be restored to health.
