Chicago Bandits Get Early Morning Haul
REGISTERED MAIL TAKEN FROM POSTAL OFFICIAL
United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received Wednesday, 8 p.m. CHICAGO, Dec. 6. In the early morning four or five armed bandits held up a mail carrier with a guard and escaped with registered mail of a face value of over 1,000,000 dollars, including cheques and securities. The amount negotiable is not known, although it is believed to be comparatively small. The robbery occurred within 100 feet of the United States Government Post Office.
