Ladies’ Guild of Congregational Church

FINAL MEETING OF YEAR. The final meeting of the year of the Congregational Ladies' Guild was held on Tuesday, December 5, in the Guild room, Mrs Bycroft presiding. A report of the year’s work was given by the secretary, which disclosed a year of steady work. The financial statement was given by the treasurer and it was decided to hand £2O to the church. After business had been finalised, the ladies adjourned to the school hall and with their friends were the guests ot the officers of the guild. The hall and tables were decorated with flowers and looked very charming. An enjoyable programme was presented, those contributing being Mrs Prince, Mrs Dawson, Mrs Matthews, Mr Gowley (vocal solos), Mrs Dawson and Mrs Prince (duct), Mrs Gowley (guitar solo). All had to respond to encores. Mrs Bycrofo gave a recitation which proved very amusing. During an interval, a dainty afternoon tea was served, the hostesses being Mesdaincs Bycroft, Cobbe, Stairs, Evans and Nieholls. Thanks to the performers were given' by the president, who then closed the meeting with prayer.
