"Lords” Object to Rush Tactics

LOWER HOUSE “WORKING UNDER PANIC” Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. In the Legislative Council to-day in moving the second reading of the New Zealand Loans Bill, Sir James Parr said it was a consolidating measure which brought legislation into line with modern conditions.

Sir James Allen protested aganst the Council being asked to rush the Bill through. The Lower House seemed to be Working under panic and the Council was being asked to endorse legislation which it had not time to study.

Hon. J. A. Hanan said the fullest scrutiny should bo given to all financial legislation in order to avoid any boomerang effects iu the future. The Bill was put through the remaining stages and passed.
