ADVERTISING NEW ZEALAND PRODUCTS SUCCESSFUL DRIVE HELD Some months ago the Women’s Institutes of New Zealand successfully carried out a scheme to make New Zealand butter more widely known in Great Britain. The success of that ‘“drive” has encouraged the extension of the plan to other commodities, and arrangements are now being mado to deal with honoy on similar lines. Quantities of local honoy will bo sont from New Zealand Women’s Institutes to their “links” or corresponding institutes at Home, thus serving the double of a good-will token and an ■advertisement of a Dominion primary product.
STANWAY.^ A fiflly attended meeting of the Stanway Women's Institute was held in the hall on Wednesday afternoon, Mrs. L. Dermer presiding. Two very interesting demonstrations were given, Mrs. W. Short demonstrating tno maxing of soft toys and Mrs. Kilvington the making of baskets and trays. Both these demonstrations were followed with very keen interest by all prosent. Quite a number of entries were received for tho scone competition, Mrs. E. Rosser 1, and Mrs. I. Marshall 2 proving tho winners. A dainty afternoon tea was dispensed by tho hostesses, Mesdamcs Burke, A. Callingham, C. Callingham and C. Christian. After tea all members joined In a coh-.mUi.ny sing ably led by Mrs. Turner with K. Green at the piano. Two vocal solos were beautifully rendered by Mrs. L. Dermer, Miss M. Walsh playing the accompaniments. A very pleasant afternoon was brought to a close with the singing of the National Anthem.
