Feilding Methodist Ladies' Guild

HOLD SPRING BLOSSOM FAIR

Organised by the Feilding Methodist Ladies' Guild, with the assistance of a men ; s committee, the spring blossom fair held at the parish hall on Friday, proved most successful, the hall being tastefully arranged and the various stalls were made exceedingly attractive with decorative effects and the goods with which they were laden. . The Rev. E. O. Blamires congratulated the Ladies’ Guild upon the enthusiasm they had displayed in organising tho fair, an enthusiasm that had won commendable eo-perative effort among all adherents of the church. He was happy to note the representation from tho outlying districts around Feilding and thanked all for the splendid help received. The visitors included the Rev. J. IV. Bayliss and Mrs. Bayliss, and the Mayor (Mr. O'. E. Taylor) and. Mrs. Taylor. Throughout the afternoon and evening brisk business was done, every one of tho several stalls receiving excellent patronage.

The stalls included: Fancy work, sweets, plain sewing, cakes, flower and produce stalls, and a men’s stall. These were in the charge of members of the Ladies’ Guild and their young heplers. 'inere was also a well supplied Handkerchief wagon, provided by nie Young Women’s Bible Class, The afternoon tea and supper room was well managed and splendidly patronised, Guild workers and their helpers co-operating with much satisfaction to all. Various competitions in the evening created much interest and amusement, when the ladies were ably assisted by a men’s committee, and a croquet ball driving competition was well supported both afternoon and evening. Quite a feature of the evening was the work of youDg flower sellers, who buttonholed with much success. The financial result was in the vicinity of £45.
