Successful Effort for W.D.F.U. Funds

The shop conducted by members of the Palmerston North branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers’ Union on Thursday, Friday and Saturday of last woelc met with very gratifying success, close on £3O being realised for the funds. Sympathisers responded most generously both in contributions and patronage, and the members who worked tirelessly headed by the president, Mrs. W. Howell, are well pleased with the result. Competitions .added considerably to the funds and resulted as follow:—Dinner (donated by Mrs, Davison, Kairanga), Mrs. Eogers, Annandale avenue; Turkey gobbler (donated by Mrs. Rutledge), Mrs. D. Guy (Kopntaroa); pine-needle basket (donated by Miss Cunninghame), Miss Tyott; box sweets (donated by Mr. F. J. Nathan), Miss Symons; iced cake (donated by Mrs. W. Howell), Mrs. W. G. Shannon (Newbury); dressed Turkey, Mrs. Lee, King street.
