The Cheltenham. Tennis Club will bold a. special danco to-morrow evening, the music for which will be supplied by Lovcday’s Orchestra. This will be the only dance to be held by the club this season and tho occasion is being marked by tho engagement of a new orchestra which comes to the district with a reputation for providing first-class music.
Lawn tennis enthusiasts of Feilding are looking forward to tho oponing of the season which is expected to take place on Saturday next. Every effort is being made to get the courts in order and provided fine weather prevails throughout the week the club should be able to commence the season on the day set down. Hard court players will be out on tho courts this coming week-end and most of the clubs propose opening early this month. Tho Mayor of Feilding, Mr. C. E. Taylor, accompanied by Cr. E. Fair and the town clerk (Air, N. C. Harding) arc to visit 'Wellington to-day on borough business connected with loan matters. The opportunity will be taken while In Wellington to visit the Audit. Department regarding tho payment of the Power Board rate out of revenue and the Unemployment Board on questions dealing -with tho administration of the regulations governing the provision of work for relief workers.
Air. F. 11. Billing, accountant at tho Feilding branch of tho Bank of New Zealand, has been promoted manager of tho Ivimbolton branch in succession to Air. A. W. Gray, who is about to retire. Air. Billing will take up his new duties on November 20.
