Feilding Wedding

WYBER—McCONNON Tho marriage took place at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Feilding, on Tuesday evening Soptcmbcr 21, of Margaret, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. McConnon, Aorangi, to William, only son of Mr J. and the late Mrs Wybcr, of Palmerston North..

The service was conducted by the Rev. D. R. McDonald and the church was tastefully decorated in shades of pink and white by friends of tho bricle, while the young eouplo stood under a handsomo floral bell of real flowers which was made by Mrs H. E. Hockeu, Colyton. The bride entered the church looking radiant in a gown of ivory ring velvet, cut on classical lines, the hip lino being lavishly pin-tucked, while the sleeves pouched to the elbow, thou extended to tho wrist, whore they fell in deep points over the hands. The beautiful veil of silk net embroidered at tho corners was worn simply gathered well back on the head and caught at the sides with sprigs of orangeblossom, with one cornor allowed to tip tho floor forming the train. The bride’s only adornment was a rope of pearls and she carried a bouquet of freesias, white stock and maiden-hair fern. She was attended by her sister, Miss Patty McConnon (chief) and Miss Grace Cummings, both maids being froeked alike in powder blue ring velvet cut to match the brido’s frock, with which they wore large felt hats of powder blue trimmed at back with large bow of ring velvet and powder blue velvet shoes toned with their frocks. Their bouquets were in shades of pink spring floweTs. Both maids wore gold wrist bangles, the gifts of the bridegroom. The bridegroom was attended by Mr TV. Hastings, Wanganui, as best man, and Mr Selwyn Hockey Colyton, as groomsman, while Mr A. W. Zuppicich and MrL. Poarce were the ushers. On leaving the church the bridal couple were given a lucky horse-shoe by Master Graham Simpson. Later the bride and bridegroom received tho good wishes of their friends in the lounge of the "Beresford’’rooms, where the bride’s parents, assisted by (the bridegroom’s sistor, Mrs N. Millar (Palmerston North) held the reception, about 60 guests being present. The tables were prettily decorated in shades of pink and blue and tho beautiful three-tier cake held place of honour on tho bridal table.

After the reception Mr and Mrs McConnon entertained their guests at a jolly dance, which was kept going by music supplied by Bramwell’s Orchestra. Later when the happy couple left by car for a tour of the. North, Mrs Wybor wore a navy and gold, silk marocain frock in chickenfoot design, and a fawn angora tweed spring coat with a fawn model hat. Brown crocodile shoes and a. real Morocco handbag completed her toilet. Tho bride’s mother wore a smartly tailored frock of groy elephant crepe with vest of blue under a chovron tweed coat, while her hat was a grey French tagel straw with touches of blue, and riie carried a posy of coloured flowers to tone. Mrs Millar chose a deep beige lace and georgette frock worn, under a. smart wine coat and a wine toque of velvet with a small eye-veil. Her posy of spring flowers was to tone. Mrs Walter McConnon (Palmerston North), aunt of the bride, was wearing a brown crepe do chine frock and a brown coat and hat. Miss Peggy McConnon wore a navy crepe do chine and laec frock, and fur coat. Mrs W. Jones (Hunterville), annt of the bride, wore a pretty black frock with coat and hat to mutch, and Mrs W. Watkins (HunterWile), annt of the bride, wore a smart fawn ensemble.
