The monthly social of the Business Girls ’ Club took the form of a gift evening for Miss May Oliver, a member who is shortly to be married. There was an excellent attendance at the Y.TV.C.A. club room last evening, and a very happy time was spent . with games, competitions and musical items. Those who contributed to the evening’s entertainment were Misses M. Penketh, o'Neill and Carmont (songs), and Davidson (pianoforte solo.) Competition winners were Mrs. Oram and Misses C. Kells and M. Puklowski. Community singing with Miss Davidson at the piano concluded the programme. Supper was served, after which Mrs. Oram (president of the club) asked Miss Oliver to accept all the parcels the members had.brought and on their behalf conveyed to her good wishes for her future happiness. The parcels were then opened and Miss Oliver feelingly expressed her thanks for the lovely gifts and her appreciation of her association with the club. . A very jolly evening concluded with “Aula Lang Syne.”
