From. Our Owu Correspondent A committee meeting of the Horticultural Society was held on Monday evening. Air. H. V. Caverhill presided in the absence of Airs. Will. Apologies for nonattendance were received from Airs. A. J. Will, Airs. M. Bower, Airs. Yarrall, Miss Bower and Mr. Yarrall. The report and balance sheet of the last show, showing a loss of £2 8s 7d, was adopted. It was moved by Mr. J. C. Glover and seconded by Aliss E. Foster, that a committee meeting he held at the end of January to discuss the advisability of holding the autumn show. The secretary was instructed to write a letter o£ congratu-
lation to Air. Alan Gibson on his win at the National Shows at Palmerston North and Christchurch. Constable M. F. Blaxland, who has officiated at Rongotea for the past IS years, has retired. Pie is succeeded by Constable Kennedy, late of Auckland.
