From Our Own Correspondent. Tho tinal euchre tournament: of the series which has been conducted throughout the winter months was held on Friday night when there was n good attendance of players. On this occasion the ladies’ trophy was won by Mrs. L. Clark, while the men's prize was annexed by Mr. L. Black. Consolation awards were made to Mr. J. Muir and Miss Thelma Davcy. The points prizes for highest total of games during the series were won by Mrs. L. Clark and Mr. Claude Burmeisler.
The local cyclists, E. Lawrence and N. Hyde, who were placed first and third respectively in last week’s road race, have been in solid training for the race to Wanganui. Local tennis enthusiasts require only fine weather to make a success of the opening day of the club’s activities on Wednesday. Players from neighbouring clubs are cordially invited to attend. The small daughter of Air. and Airs. McGraii, who had to enter the public hospital last week, is said to he progressing favourably.
