From Our Own Correspondent The annual ball of the Huia Football Club took place on Friday night.. It was a most successful function, eclipsing anything that has been held locally for some .considerable time. The. hall had been tastefully decorated with nikau palms and other bush foliage, intermingled with the club's colours (black and white), louring' the evening occasion was taken ■ o present to the club, the junior AlcICelvie shield. Mr. H. It. Simmons, vicepresident of the Te Kawau Sub-union, apologised for the absence of Mr. H. J. Fagan, and introduced Mr. E. Hill, of Taikorea, who warmly congratulated the club on their victory and presented the shield to Mr. Eldon Donaldson, captain, in replying, the latter thanked the many supporters of the club for their assistance during tho season. Extras tor ilancing were provided by Mrs. K. Mora and Mr. G. Millard. Messrs H. H. Simmons and H. Waller were in charge of the floor and kept the hall rolling" merrily until a late hour. The supper arrangements were in the capable hands of Mesdiunes Donaldson, Pearce, Shaw, Cai - keek, AV. Hill, and Miss Simmons. Amongst those present were Mesdames Donaldson, black georgette; Vv.
