Y.M.C.A Gymnastic Carnival
SPLENDID ENTERTAINMENT PROMISED Starting from a small beginning, the Y.M.C.A. gymnastic carnivals have become one of the most popular forms of entertainment in Palmerston North, and the lltli annual carnival to be presented in the Opera House next Friday, Saturday and Monday, promises to cciipsc any of its predecessors. For weeks past 340 members selected from classes representing primary boys and junior girls and boys down to the age of eight years, have been putting their whole-hearted energy into rehearsals. With this material, which will equal any in the world, and under the capable supervision of Mr C. Woods, the physical director, there is not tho slightest doubt that for novelty, precision in execution, and colourful presentation, this year’s carnival will be one of the highest order, and tho public arc assured of witnessing a programme of highly spectacular and enjoyable numbers. Many now and novel items have been introduced, while some of the old favourites have been included with great improvement. Promptly at 7.45 p.m. the curtain will rise on the grand march of 340 performers, and each item will followin quick succession until the grand finale. Patrons are requested to note that the performance commences sharp at 7.-15 p.m. Sweets will be on sale at the door by tho Y.MC.A. Ladies’ Auxiliary. Tickets arc obtainable from any Y.M.C.A. member or at the association’s office, Grey street. The box plan opens on Wednesday at the Central Booking Office.
