Cobbe’s Promenade Display
The premises of Messrs John Cob be’s, Feilding, were thrown open on Friday evening for a promenade display of new season’s styles, the interest in which was testified to by the large attendance of both, town and country visitors. Preparations for this event were carried out- mo3t completely, shaded, lamp stands being artistically arranged in a colour scheme which harmonised with the hundreds of delicately coloured Iceland poppies, to produce a scene in full keeping with the quality of the goods displayed. Every latest style and fashion was on view, and the dressing out of each department reflected the greatest credit on those in. charge. There seemed nothing in the fashion world that, had been overlooked—beautiful dress materials, hosiery, bags, gloves, frocks, millinery, evening wear, dainty lingerie, children’s frocks and hats, powders, perfumes, crystal, china, beautiful furnishings, napery, curtains, carpets, bath mats and towels, shirts, ties, suits, blazers —they were all the very latest goods most attractively shown, and as the many present promenaded round the display - there were exclamations of delight. Soft music supplied by the Radio Sales and Service, and records from Mr. W. E. Carthew’s added greatly to the enjoyment. Those present seemed loth to leave the brightness of the premises. The window' display came in for much attention and here again the various goods.were attractively set out. The. show was repeated on Saturday night when interest was as live as ever.
