MEETING OF EXECUTIVE At a meeting of the Palmerston North Girl Guides' Assocaition, held on Friday, Mrs G. A. Eliott presided. Also present were Mcsdames Aitcluson, Wimsctt, Tollman, Bennett, Misses McLagan and Warren. Apologies were received from Mesdames Whyte, Bodgers, King, Carruthers, Misses Warburton and Grant. Mrs Eliott, reported that Mrs Tweed (provincial commissioner) had written commenting favourably on the annual report of the Palmerston North Guides, which she considered most satisfactory.
It was decided to hold the Labour Day training camp for Guidcrs on a site near Fitzhcrbort bridge if fine, and in St. Andrew’s Hall, should the weather not be favourable. An invitation was extended to tho executive members to visit tho camp. Guidcrs from Ohakunc, Bactihi, Pahiatua, Woodville and Palmerston North district, had notified their intention of participating. Several offers were made to billet. the visitors.
Tentative arrangements were made to hold a garden qiarty in. December to augment funds to provide headquarters for tho district.
Mrs Grant Sim wrote expressing her pleasure .in accepting the office of vice-president, Mrs H. F. Wilson was added to the executive.
A vote of sympathy with Mrs P. F. O’Connor in her recent bereavement was expressed in the usual way.
