Pit Business Girls’ Club

PRESENT PROGRAMME AT FLOCK HOUSE.

.Members of the Business Girls’ Club and friends journeyed out to Flock House (Bulls) on Friday evening and presented a most interesting programme which wms thoroughly appreciated by tho students. Tho hall presented a delightful appearance with its colourful streamers and masses of cherry blossom, conspicuous on the stage being a banner in black and gold bearing the word “Welcome.” Proceedings opened with the National Anthem, after which songs were contributed by Misses M. Penketh and D, Stairs, guitar solos by Mr. A. Sundborn, and an exhibition of “thought, reading” by Messrs. Jeroinson and Hutchinson, all the performers being warmly acclaimed. A one-act play, “Between the Soup and the Savoury,” in which tho parts were admirably enacted by Miss Stairs (cook), Miss A. Varcoe (kitekenmaid), Miss Carmont (maid), brought down the house. Community singing made a pleasing diversion before supper, dancing occupying the rest of tho evening with Mr. J. Selwyn as master of ceremonies. Miss 0. Greenall was the accompanist and music for dancing was supplied by Misses M. Puklowski. N. Davidson and M. Grace. Mrs. Cooksley was the chaperone. Before the singing of “Auld Lang Syne,” Colonel C. G. Powlcs, principal of Flock House, returned thanks to the visitors for tho pleasant entertainment provided and said the annual visit from members of the club was always anticipated.
