Feilding Flower Show Next Month
SOCIETY’S ANNUAL MEETING There 'wits an excellent attendance at the annual meeting of the 1 cilding Horticultural Society on Monday evening, when it was decided to hold the show on November 24. Mr J. G. Elliott presided and briefly reviewed the past season's activities, following which the report and balance-sheet nerc adopted. It was decided that there should be two membership fees —an honorary member paying Us 6d being entitled to free entry to the show, and the usual membership of ss, which entitles tnc member to free entry to show and the placing of six freo exhibits. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: —Patron, Hon. J. G. Cobbc; president, Mr D. C. Cullinanc; vice-presidents, Mesdames .T. G. Cobbe, E. P. Swainson, E. Y. Lethbridge, J. E. Barltrop, F. Billman, Messrs C. A. J. Lovett, C. E. Taylor, A. Williamson, Boswell, and Tutty; cominittee, Mesdames A. E. Do wrick, .T. Graham, 1.. Gorton, E. 11. Lange, C. Millen, A. McCorkiudale, K. lioss, V. E. Smith, Walpole, K. At. Watson, Misses Sh or tall, Atatt-hews (2;, Atessrs J. E. Barltrop, A. Brewster, J. S. Lumsden, E. H. Lange, Frank Mason, G. Alai, K. Boss and B. Stewart; secretary and treasurer, Air A. E. Dowrick (re-elected); hon. auditor, Air J. E. Barltrop. A vote of thanks was accorded to Air J. Gordon Eliott, the retiring president, for his generous services to the society.
Votes of sympathy were accorded to Air J. S. Lumsden and Air Fifield on their illness and hopes were expressed for their speedy restoration to good health.
The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the secretary and to Aliss Karsten for the use of her rooms for the meeting.
