N.S.W. Rifle Shooting Meeting
NEW ZEALANDERS PARTICIPATING SYDNEY, Oct. 10. - Nearly a thousand competitors assembled for the rifle championship meeting at the Liverpool range. Shooting was keen and there were many possibles. The Mark Foy match, ten shots at. SOO yards, was won by Morris (Gouiburn), with the best of nine possibles. The New Zealanders -1. C. Carter and H. L. Lucena were 6C-th and 112th respectively, with 48, each winning £l. The Lemaitre match, ten shots at 600 yards, was won by Phillips (Melbourne) with the best of eight possibles. Lucena was 67th with 48 and won £l. The Dangar match, ten sjiots at 700 yards, was won by Painter (Goulbum), with the best of five possibles. The Paine aggregate, the best of these three matches, was won by Treadwell (Melbourne) with 147. Eight .ethers were 146. The weather was boisterous at times. Two Further Matches Received Tuesday, 10.45 p.m. SYDNEY, Oct. 10. The national rifle meeting continues. Not many possibles were recorded. In the Motton match, of ten shots at 300 yards, A. Sharpe (South Sydney) was the best of nine possibles. The New Zeaalndors Lucena and Cnrter were 37th and 3Cth with 49 each, winning £l. In the Jamieson match, of ten shots at 800 yards, R. G. Übank (Queensland) and E. H. Wilshiro (Mosman) were the best of eight possibles and shoot off for first place.
