The Feilding Borough

MEETING OF THE COUNCIL Tho Feilding Borough. Council met last evening, tho Mayor (Mr C. E. Taylor) presiding. There were also present: Crs. W. W. Andrews, J. Corpo, G. Darragh, E. Fair, D. Fair-weather, G. Kilvington, A. 0. McCorkindalc, G. D. Pearce and A. J. Hollow. In connection with a letter from the Invercargill Borough Council suggesting that fire insurance companies proportion of the Fire Board’s levies be increased, it was decided to reply that the council was in favour of the matter being ventilated at the next municipal conference. Accounts amounting to £1539 -Is 3d were passed for payment, and accounts paid since the last meeting amounting to £2778 12s Sd were approved. ■ It was agreed to grant a water connection to Mr T. Stoneley, of Kimboltou road, subject to tho conditions applying to water connections made to properties outside tho borough.
