Rongotea
From Our Own Correspondent Owing to counter attractions the attendance at a meeting held in Rongotea on Tuesday evening to support Miss Joan Russel! in the carnival was not large. Mr. L. H. Yarrall was in the chair. An enthusiastic committee was formed comprising Mesdames A. J. "Will, R. V. Caverhill, W. A. Davison, Messrs A. N. Morcom, D. H. Yarrall, A. H. Burgess, W. Davison, H. E. Fieldhouse and T. Patton, with Mr. R. O. Gloyn as secretary. It was decided to support the central committee working for Miss Russell in all Its major efforts and to conduct activities locally. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to Mr. L. H. Yarrall for taking the chair, Mr. A. Morcom as convenor, and Mr. W. G. Black who explained the activities whereby other district committees proposed raising funds. Miss M. Davison and her niece, Miss Barbara Davison, have returned from a visit to Marton where they were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Davison.
