On Wednesday night a jolly dance was held at the studio of AlissDoreon Saunders in aid of tho Farmers’ Queen, Miss Joan Russell, who, together with her mother, was present. In her dainty floral frock, Miss Russell made a. charming picture and her pleasing personality gained for her many new friends during the course of the evening, while at the conclusion of the function .the company gathered round the queen candidate to join hands and sing “Fot She’s a Jolly Good Fellow” prior to bringing a most enjoyable evening to a close with “Auld Lang Syne.” Tho dance music was provided by Mrs McNiele, and extras wero supplied by Miss Elfreda Andrews (piano) and Mr Penny (violin). Added enjoyment was given by the rendition of musical items by Miss F. Howley and Messrs G. Nash and R. Miller.
