St. David's Church Ladies' Guild

PLEASANT APT3RNOON MEETING

Members of St. David’s Church Ladies’ Guild spent a particularly happy afternoon at thoir monthly meeting in the church hall yesterday, the arrangements for which had been made by some of the younger members. Tho room had been beautifully decorated with Iceland poppies and a delightful programme was presented. The president, Mrs Glendinning, extended a welcome following the singing of a hymn. Miss Doreen Saunders entertained with elocutionary items, Miss M. Walker with vocal solos, and Misses M. Day and M. Walker with a vocal duet. All the items were warmly applauded, and tho artists responded to encores. Miss T. Sodden presided at the piano. Two competitions added to the interest, the prize-win-ners being Mrs Pullen and Mrs Ashby. A. very dainty tea was served, tho hostesses being Misses Forster M. Day and M. Moffat. Before the meeting terminated Mrs Glendinning expressed her appreciation of the efforts of the young ladies in arranging such a pleasant afternoon.
