Stock Drive for Plunket Society and Toc H
(Special to “Times.") WAIPUKURAU, Feb. 17. Representatives of th« Waipukurau men’s branch of the Plunket Society and members of te.© Toe H. met last night for the purpose of making preliminary arrangements for a stock drive instead of the usual gymkhana, for the purpose of raising funds. It was agreed that the territory should be divided into districts, and an organise! appointed for each, each organiser to be authorised to appoint assistants., Mr I. W. N. Mackie was appointed chairman and treasurer, and Colonel A. S. Wilder organising secretary. The following district organisers were appointed : —Lindsay Settlement, Mr G. Davey; Mangatera, Mr H. It. Peacock ; Waipawa-Onga-Tikokino, a Plunket representative to be appointed by the chairman; Porangahau, Messrs J. Or mond junv. and J. McLean; Farm road, Mr 13. Boyes; Wanstead-Middleton road-Waipukurau, It. P. Wilder; Flemingtoh-Lake Station-Torerere-Ha-tuma turn off, Messrs H. Robinson and U. Dalby; Hatuma-Alarakeke-Waipuku-rau, Messrs O. Schroder and A.. W. Kibblewhite. Mr H. Martin was appointed to arrange a holding paddock and it was decided that all stock should be in time for the sale on March 2. It was resolved that whet-t.. desired cash donation might be made in lieu of stock. The proceeds of the drive are to be divided between the Plunket Society and Toe H., the former taking two thirds and the latter one-third. The representatives of the Plunket .Society were entertained at supper by * Toe H. after the meeting.
