Feilding Friendly Societies
PRESENTATION TO DR. G. PHILLIPS. To mark tlicir. appreciation of his services over the past twenty years to the members of their organisations, officers of the Feilding Friendly Societies waited on Dr. G. Phillips early this week. -The speakers spoke in the highest praise of Dr. Phillips’ services and recorded their regret that he was leaving the town. Througnout his association with the local Friendly Societies the doctor had manifested a rare sympathy in the wall’are of ihembers and in extending to him and Airs Phillips their good wishes, they asked their acceptance of a silver double entree dish inscribed “To Dr. and Airs Phillips, in appreciation. From the Feilding Friendly Societies, 3937.” • In returning thanks, Dr. Phillips confessed to be taken by surprise by this evidence of goodwill towards Mrs Phillips and himself and thanked the officers of tho societies for their great kindness. He deeply appreciated the sentiments conveyed by the speakers and said he found it most difficult to give up his long association with Feild
