MR S. D. PEARCE, OF FEILDING. Manager for many years of tho firm of Messrs McGruers, Ltd., of Feilding, Air S. D. Poarcc, who recently retired, was met at Wanganui ou Wednesday evening by the managers of the firm’s branches and presented with a handsome fireside set in appreciation of his many years service with the firm. Air L. A. Bone, a trustee of the firm eulogised tho conscientious service Air Pearce had given during his’long association with Messrs McGruers, Ltd. He had been held in very high regard by his brother managers of the organisation and on their behalf Mr Bone conveyed to Air Pearce their sincere good wishes for his future health and happiness. Air P. W. Peters, manager of the Napier branch, who had made tho trip specially to the function endorsed Air Bone’s remarks and added his personal tribute to the services given by Air Pearce.

Mr Pearce suitably replied, thanking his late associates for their kindly gift and tributes.
