Feilding Cricket

TEAMS FOR TO-DAY. The following teams will be engaged in the Feilding cricket competitions to-day:— Wesley to play Feilding B: G. Fisher, L. Carthew, L. Duncan, J. Pask, J. Alurdocb, T. Dewe, H. Mingins, H. Boniface, H. Brock, L. Wells, O. Nairn, P. Packer, B. Beattie. Public Service to play Feilding: McLeod, Mclntosh, Sinclair, Montcith, Stephens, James, Ferguson, Packer, Lawton Crump and Barltrop. with these in operation there was no fear of stock bringing the disease to tho Dominion. lie agreed with tho idea of collective shipments but would not agree to any interference with the British restrictions. The replies received from different societies were then read to the meeting. The Pelorus Souud's executive of the Farmers' Union was opposed to the proposed regulations and expressed itself as being in favour of even more stringent regulations. The North Olago executive wrote supporting the proposals, although not in favour of every detail. The Aberdeen Angus Breed Society wrote favouring direct importations with regulation quarantine in England and in New Zealand. The Shorthorn Society of New Zealand generally favoured the proposed regulations but submitted several slight amendments. The Romney Alarsh Sheep Breed Society favoured direct shipments under control as recommended in the proposals of the late Alinister of Agriculture. The Hawke 's Bay Provincial. Executive favoured the proposals unanimously, while the New Zealand Sheep Breeders’ Association of Canterbury favoured the removal of the present restrictions and was of the opinion that the existing safeguards were sufficient. The Taihape branch of tho union supported tho proposals. The meeting, having previously endorsed tho proposals, received the correspondence without carrying any further resolution.
