Notes of the Day
At last evening's meeting of the Feilding A. and P. Association Mrs. Jean Reid (neo Miss Moray) wrote thanking tho association for its handsome presentation on the occasion of her recent marriage, in recognition of her help at past shows. The president (Mr. H. J. Lancaster) said that tho association had been most happy to mark its appreciation of her work. Pupils of the Feilding High School are notified by advertisement to call for book lists any day on or after Tuesday next. The Feilding Forester’s Lodge will hold a social and dance next Thursday evening to celebrate the lodge’s anniversary. For further particulars see advertisement on this page. At last evening's meeting of the committee of tho Feilding A. and P. Association motions of sympathy wero passed to the relatives of the late Air. Arthur Ellerm, of Bulls, and the lato Mrs. W. H. Henson. The president (Air. H. J. Lancaster) paid a tribute to the interest of these members in the welfaro of the association and their passing was sincerely regTetted. The accident suffered by Air. F. C. Pearson, of Cunninghams, whilst riding in the horse events at the recent Feilding show was referred to at last evening’s meeting of the committee of the Feilding A. and P. Association. The president (Air. H. J. Lancaster) said that Air. Pearson suffered a broken collar bone and an injury to an arm and he proposed that a letter of sympathy be sent to him. This was agreed to. Appreciative references to the services rendered the Feilding A. and I*. Association’s shows over the past 21 years by Mr. Harry Brandt, were made by the president (Mr. H. J. Lancaster) and other speakers at last evening's meeting of the committee. Mr. H. A. Stewart said that it would be very nice if the association could see its way to make some special recognition of this splendid record. Mr. Brandt had been a member of the association for 21 years and had assisted at tho show for 20 years. Air. N. J. Short supported the last speaker and said that the ram fair committee had in mind proposing action along the lines suggested by Mr. Stewart. Air. B. AlcLeod endorsed the idea and the president felt that the association should act in accordance with the suggestion which he heartily endorsed. Mr. F. J. Boddy also spoke eulogising tho services rendered by Air. Brandt. It was unanimously agreed to arrange for a presentation to be made at the next meeting of the association.
