LID BLOWN OFF TIN
BOY’S FACE SCALDED BOILING WATER AT PICNIC A narrow escape from losing his sight was experienced by a Te Awamutu boy, Gordon Martin, while attending a picnic a few days ago. He was boiling water in a 71b treacle tin and had rammed the lid on tightly. When the water boiled the lid was blown off, the boy being badly scalded about the face and head. He is now progressing toward recovery.
