London, Jan. 4.

Damage and casualties resulted from enemy air activity against southern England during the 24 hours to dawn to-day. German aircraft over the North Sea , on the night of January 3 launched the year’s first flying-bombs against southern England. One fell on the outskirts of an east coast town, damaging houses. Another exploded on a sports ground. Several were shot down at sea and others in open country. Fighter Command Spitfires continuing attacks against V2 targets in Holland on January 3 bombed a railway line supplying the V2 area
