PATRIOTIC FUNDS
RICHMOND PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE The special Christmas appeal made by •the Richmond Patriotic Committee resulted in a net amount of £65 9s 5d being added to the fund. The committee wishes to express its appreciation of the splendid response made by the public. December collections are acknowledged as follows: J. G. Cressey (shop money box) 13s. Mrs Hartley 10s, Mrs Hepburn £2; Soldiers’ Parcels: Anon 16s, L.R.C. Bs, Miss Dallaston Bs, Mrs May 16s, Miss M. H. Tarrant Bs, Miss S. E. Tarrant Bs. Mrs A. R. Tuffnell £1 4s; Christmas Appeal: Anon £l, Mrs Fargher 10s, Mr Jeffries 10s, Mrs R. Marshall £3. Mrs J. Smallbone 10s, Mrs P. Sutton (3 parcels) £1 4s, Miss L. Sutton (3 parcels) £1 4s, Mrs Tuckey 4s Miss McGaveston £l, Miss Woodham £l, street collection boxes £55 7s sd; total for year to date £lOl 3s lid. The committee advises that further contributions are required by Saturday to complete the quota of 40 soldiers’ parcels to be included in the next despatch from Nelson. So far only half of this number have been subscribed for.
