COASTING TRAFFIC.
The coasting traffic has been about as brisk as usual during tho peroral of our regular traders having both arrived and departed with full cargoes. Below we give tho produce returns, but it must not be taken as tho total amount received coastwise, in consequence of several of tho smaller crafts keeping cargo books, and thceforo do not enter or clear at the Customs, and the exact amount of their cargoes can not bo ascertained. The following are the receipts from our Customs entries:— From Hokianga—29 tons kauri gum, 100 bushels maize, l.\ tons quinces, i ton jams, 1 ton bacon, 1 cask pork, 2 do. lard. From Wangaruru—l2 tons towai bark, i ton onions, 3 pigs. From Mongonui— 12 tons kauri gum, 3 horses. 3 head cattle. From the North Cape—B tons kauri gum, 2 casks pork, o3 pigs. From Russell—36 pigs, 40 boxes apples, 7 tons kauri gum, 2 casks pork, 34 dozen dried fish, 12 turkeys, and 13 goeso. From Matakana—B head cattle, 7 boxes butter, 8 ■ e gf? s » 10 do. fowl?, k ton uumpkine. From the Great Barrier—2 horses. ™^ ro o\ P '? Customs Revenue* Tho roceipts for Saturday last were £496 9s 3d, ; making the total for the week £3,010 6s sd. The receipts for Monday last, tho 36th ult., wero £329 lis 8d; and from Mond&y to Monday £3,339 18s Id. The total roneipts for the month of April were £14,003 Sd ; tho previous month being Bd, showing an increase of of £1,558. To this must be added the following extras ; —Pilot dues, 13133 15s Id; light dues, £90 5s lid; gold duty, £171 5s ; fees under Arms Act, £21 19s; ditto Under Merchant Shipping Act, £18 I7s; miscellaneous, £9; total, £440 Gs 2d ; making gross receipts, £15,006 18s IOJ. The following have "booli tho receipts sinco : — Tuesday, £795 7b 9d; Wednesday, £625 19s 6d; Thursday, 3SB 10s lOd; total, £1809 18s Id.
