A HEAVY SOUTH - EAST GALE — MR. . ISAAC'S YACHT DASHED ASUORE. Yesterday a strong galo from east and southeast prevailed,'becoming fiercer as the day progressed. In the afternoon, tho coast steamers, generally so regular, all postponed their departure till thin morning. Amongst these, the Enterprise for the Thiimcm, Argyle and Waitaki for TTliangarei/ and Glonelg for Tnuranga, are included. Although tho vessels in harbour tosaod and pitched greatly, and tho creaking sound of ropea strained to their utmost tension was audible everywhere, no damage worth mentioninz was snetalniid, with one exception, Mr. K. leaacs's yaoht Thetis, which wns anchored near' the breakwater, broke from her moorings, - and drifted on to it about 3 o'cleck, touching broadside on. Her owner, ■with several frier.de, was speedily on tho scene. In getting her oil they had to cut away tne mast, to enable them to reeve her throuijh the Railway Wharf. This they succeeded in doing, and she now floats under tho surface, filled with water, on the western side of the ■wharf, opposite Hall Brothere' store. Her stsrboiid side was considerably damaged, but there is no reason to believe sho is a complete wreck.
