STEAM CONFECTIONERY WORKS, I DURHAM-STREET, AUCKLAND. ED"WARD WATERS In thanking the public for the liberal support extended to him in his efforts to establish on a firm basis a New Local Industry, begs to announco for tbt information of Merchants and Storekeepers that he has now completed all arrangements for tho manufacture- of every description of Confectionery. The sum of money that is annually tent out of the colony for importations of impure and deleterious sweetmeats is enormous, and the advertiser would respectfully caution purchasers of the noxious compounds which are now being extensively introduced here from Australia, and which are exceedingly injurious to children's health. His own Confectionery is made of ths purest materials, and nd poisonous colouring matter Is introduced in its manufacture. . ■ Storekeepers will find it greatly to their advantage to purchase their goods of him, as the price is considerably below that at which the English confections are sold, whilo the quality of the locally made article has been pronounced alike by connoisseurs and the public to be eminently superior to that of the British manufactures. His renowned CONVERSATION LOZENGES noed no recommendation, and all other descriptions now made at his Factory are fully equal to those in quality and finish. Chemist's Proprietary Lozenges, neatly and carefu ly stamped and prepared. Always on hand, and made to order: Lozonges, Comfits, Jujube 3, Pastilos, Medicated Lozenges, Genuino Black Currant Lozonges, Cough Lozenges (equal to Heating's), Conversation Lozenges, Peppermints, Double Extra Strong Mints, Powdered, Icing, and Boiled Sagars of every description, Sugar ■ . Candy, etc. • All Goods Manufactured on the Premises, and of the best materials. Medicated Lozenges ot over/ description always on hand. Waters' Chocolate, 203 per dozen. Waters : Sir,—l have much pleasure In informing you, that after having made a very, careful analysis of various samples of sweetmeats manufactured by you, I find that they aro free from all adulteration, and that the colouring matters are quite nnopuous. With regard to the Chocolate, I flnd that it is Quito equal to tho best English or French preparations, and, being entirely free from husk, it will form an excellent article of diet for invalids, especially those suffering from an impaired digestion.—l have the honour to be, sir, your obedient servant, ■ , •:: - Jambb M.
