LONDON PRODUCE REPORT, The Department of Industries and Commerce has received the following cablegram from the Agent-General, dated London, the 27th inst. The mutton market ’is steady and prices are well maintained. Lamb is in better demand, at prices ranging from s|d to 6d per lb. The beef market is steady with a moderate demand; average price to-day for hind-quarters New Zealand beef, 3|d per lb; for fores, 3d. The butter market is firm with a good demand, average price to-day for choicest New Zealand butter is 100 s per cwt; Danish, 116 s. The cheese market is dull, with a downward tendency p average price finest New Zealand cheese to-day is 48s per cwt. The hemp market is dull; price ox New Zealand hemp, good fair Wellington grade on spot to-day, is -832 per ton. April to June shipments are selling at X3l. Cocksfoot seed is in better- demand.
