MAIL NOTICES.

TO THE EDITOK. Sib,—On looking at the paper this morning for a notice of the closing time for the Melbourne mail, I found there was not one inserted. I see, however, that the Monowai is to leave Dunedin on Monday for Melbourne, and have no doubt that on Monday morning, when it is too late, a notification of the Melbourne mail closing time will appear. Cannot this be altered and the notice inserted the day before the mail closes?—l am, etc., Corresponded t. [Notice of the closing of the mail has appeared in our columns for nearly a week.— Ed. O.M.]
