Waitaki Amateur Athletic Club.

(from a correspondent.) The Waitaki Amateur Athlotie Club held their sports on Wednesday, November 9th. The weather was beautiful aad the attendance good. Time, 10 4-sth sec. High Jump.—J. Ward and R. A. Munro tied Vaulting. —J. Drysdale, 1 ; J. M. Munro, 2 Boys' Race (under 16 years).—G. M'Kenzie, 1 ; C. M'Kenzie, 2 ; G. Bell, 3. Mowbray, 1; W. Dick, 2. A beautiful race which resulted in a win for tho scratch man by 4 inches. Time, 59sec Consoltation Handicap.—E. G. A. Hille, 1; J.J. Bell, 2. Time, 13sec The Club paid in trophies L 45. but it is to be regretted that, even with such inducement, the Club does nob receive from the general public tho support it deserves. The usual grand concert and dance was held in Hassall's Hall in the evening, and proved a success. Mr D. Macfarlane, President of the W.A.A.C., occupied tho ohair. The Club were unusually fortunate in securing th« services of Miss Morrison. of Dunedin, while Mrs Hesketh sustained her already well-known reputation. Mr Borrows, of Dunedin, delighted the audience with his Scotch songs. Mr Low and Mr Carroll were the other gentleman singers, and it is needless to say that they acquitted themselves creditably. Miss Vercoe, Mrs Munro, and Mrs Waugh acted as accompanistes during the evening, Miss Vercoe opening the concert with a brilliant overture. At tho interval between the first and second parts of the concert, Mr Moss' cup, for the most points for two years, was presented to Mr Reginald A. Munro, who won it for the two years in succession. Mr Mowbray, of Oamaru, was presented with a cup, also the gift of Mr Moss, for most points in tho 100, 220, and 440 yds this year. Mr Mowbray was also presented with a gold medal from Mr D. Macfarlane, for most points from scratch.
