Accidents and Fatalities.
(by telegraph.) Ashburton, November 14. A man, whose ngsfte is supposed to bo Scobie, a butcher on Laghmor station, fell from the platform of a railway carriage on the train from Christchurch south this evening, about) a mile past Burnham. The train was pulled up smartly on the engine-driver being communicated with. The man was found on the line dead, the wheelß having crushed his head. The body waß brought on to Ashburton by the same train. An inquest will be held to-morrow.
